The new name is Nat Turner Discount Book Center: “We changed the name because Book Center is more appropriate to the ideal of opening a discount place whose basic business is wholesale.” Said H. Khalif Khalifah, wearing his businessman hat.
“The retail side of our bookselling is very small compared to the wholesale. Calling it a Book Center makes easier to tell bookstore owners, and would-be bookstore owners, to “one stop” shop for all the books they need to open a retail establishment.” Continued Khalifah.
The Nat Turner Discount Book Center is located at Khalifah’s Estate, at the birthplace of Nat Turner, 26070 Barhams Hill Road, Drewryville, VA 23844. Presently the marketing arm of UBUS Communications is shipped from the Khalifah Library. The Book Center will be a part of the multiple happenings at the home site.
It will open during the “Annual Inventory Reduction Sale: June 1 to June 30, 2009. Discounts will range from the $3.00 for a copy of “Stolen Legacy” by Professor George M. James, to $1.00 for copies of The Legacy of The Honorable Elijah Muhammad. All needed to buy wholesale is a declaration that you are going to resell, and the purchase of a minimum of 12 books. Persons buying retail will receive a flat 25% discount from the retail price.
